Introducing my colleague, Jeanne Bonner

In case you haven’t noticed, Atlanta journalist Jeanne Bonner has been writing about development and transportation over the last couple of weeks for Atlanta Unsheltered. As you can see, she’s passionate enough about these issues to be cranking out a fair amount of coverage in that time.
Jeanne isn’t well-known in Atlanta news circles. But she’s an accomplished, award-winning reporter, having spent five years at The Morning Call, the daily newspaper in Allentown, Penn. She moved to Atlanta last summer — just as the economy and the journalism job market began to crater. Not a good time to look for a job in the news business.
Well, Jeanne’s availability is my good fortune, because the two of us struck up an interest in working together on Atlanta Unsheltered. We’re hoping to develop a more extensive network of news blogs together, along with other journalists in town.
We’ll fill you in as this thing develops. In all honesty, it’s a bit of an experiment right now. In the meantime, please give us as much feedback as possible — starting with comments on this post and others.
And if you’re a skilled reporter or a plain old newshound who’d like to contribute to Atlanta Unsheltered, don’t hesitate to send an e-mail to me at ken@atlantaunsheltered.com.
